Author’s Note

I was born in the church. Raised Pentecostal. Saved. Baptised. Spirit filled. I memorised scripture. I sang on the praise team. I lived by the Word.

Though I do not attend church in the same way today, I still live by many biblical principles. I pray. I honour God. I maintain a deep personal relationship with Him.

I am choosing, as the Apostle Paul wrote, to work out my own salvation with reverence and truth (Philippians 2 verse 12, King James Version).

If you have ever been curious about astrology, crystals or tarot but were told it is wrong, this is for you. You are not alone. Asking questions does not separate you from God. Often, it brings you closer.

Is Astrology Against the Bible?

Many have been taught that astrology is forbidden. When we actually read scripture, we see the Bible contains many references to stars and timing.

Astrology is not a belief system. It is a symbolic language that interprets divine rhythm through nature.

Genesis 1 verse 14 (KJV)
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.”

Psalm 19 verse 1 (KJV)
“The heavens declare the glory of God. The firmament showeth His handiwork.”

God designed the heavens as a form of communication. The sun, moon and stars were created with purpose and meaning.

God Names the Stars in Job 38

One of the most powerful passages in scripture occurs when God addresses Job by name and references constellations.

Job 38 verses 31 to 33 (KJV)
“Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? Or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?”

God is unmistakably naming four cosmic markers:

  • Pleiades – a star cluster associated with cycles of renewal, feminine insight and agricultural timing

  • Orion – a warrior constellation celebrated worldwide

  • Mazzaroth – the Hebrew term for the twelve zodiac signs or constellations

  • Arcturus – a bright star thought to herald seasonal shifts

God does not discourage astrology here. Instead He affirms the spiritual significance of the stars and underscores that their influence is under His authority.

The Magi Were Astrologers Who Found Christ

In Matthew chapter 2, the first people to recognise Jesus were astrologers.

Matthew 2 verses 1 to 2 (KJV)
“There came wise men from the east… saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him.”

These Magi were likely Zoroastrian priest astrologers who followed a rare star alignment, most likely a conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn in Pisces. In early Jewish astrology, Pisces was associated with messianic arrival and redemption.

Their reading was honoured. Their gifts accepted. Their journey a testimony to astrology pointing people toward Covenant, not away.

Are Crystals in the Bible?

Yes. Sacred stones appear throughout Scripture in connection with worship and divine presence.

Exodus 28 verses 17 to 21 (KJV)
Details the high priest’s breastplate with twelve stones representing the tribes of Israel (including emerald, sapphire, amethyst).

Ezekiel 28 verse 13 (KJV)
Describes Eden’s covering as layered with precious stones.

Revelation 21 verses 19 to 20 (KJV)
Depicts heaven’s foundations built with gemstones matching those listed in Exodus.

These stones were not tools of darkness. They were woven into divine service and heavenly architecture.

What About Divination?

Divination is seeking divine insight through symbols or signs. While some practices are condemned, the Bible shows that respectful spiritual inquiry was often sanctioned.

Deuteronomy 18 verses 10 to 12 (KJV)
Warns against misguided forms of divination tied to control or sorcery.

Yet righteous enquiry is clearly present:

Numbers 27 verse 21 (KJV)
God instructs Joshua to consult the high priest using the Urim.

1 Samuel 14 verse 41 (KJV)
King Saul uses the Urim and Thummim—sacred elements held by the high priest—to ask God for direction.

2 Samuel 5 verses 18 to 25 (KJV)
King David waits for divine guidance before engaging in battle.

Is Tarot a Sin?

Tarot did not exist in biblical times, so it is not directly referenced. The Bible does, however, include symbolic tools like lots, dreams and visions to convey divine messages.

If tarot is used prayerfully with integrity, journaling and intuition, it can function like meditation or scriptural meditation. It is not about prediction. It is about presence and clarity.

It is not the tool but the heart that matters.

God Is Not Offended by Your Curiosity

God is vast and unwavering. He did not hesitate to place signs in the sky and speak through vision, symbols or dreams. He welcomes sincere seeking

If you are walking toward truth—not away—you are not distant from Him. You may be drawing closer.

Final Thoughts

Astrology is not a religion. Crystals are not forbidden. Tarot is not evil. Sacred inquiry conducted in reverence is not rebellion. It is relationship.

The Magi followed a star to Jesus. The priests wore gemstones across their heart. The prophets interpreted vision. The timing of the sky was named by God.

The real question is not whether these practices are evil.

The question is — who told you they were wrong?
